PROVIDENCE — A Burrillville man accused of illegally stockpiling more than 200 firearms, making ghost guns, and terrorizing his wife and neighbors has agreed to plead guilty to three federal charges and relinquish his arsenal.

Ronald Armand Andruchuk, 38, will plead guilty to possession of a firearm by a user of controlled substances and two counts of making a false statement when buying firearms, according to a plea agreement filed in US District Court on Dec. 20.

In exchange, the US Attorney’s Office will dismiss two charges of causing false records to be kept by licensed firearms dealers, and will ask for a lower sentence, provided he shows he accepts responsibility. A sentencing date has not been scheduled.

Andruchuk is still facing charges from state prosecutors, including two counts of possession of a ghost gun; manufacturing a ghost gun; firing in a compact area; possession of cocaine under 10 grams; possession of amphetamine over 10 grams; possession of methamphetamine under 10 grams; domestic cyber-harassment of his wife; and domestic disorderly conduct.

Each of the federal charges that Andruchuk is pleading guilty to carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The US Attorney’s office will recommend a sentence at the “low end of the range of sentences for the offense level,” to be determined by U.S. Probation. Read more.

The Burrillville man accused of illegally stockpiling more than 200 firearms, making ghost guns, and shooting onto his neighbors’ property had been abusing his wife and terrifying his three sons in their remote home in the woods.

Text messages exchanged between Andruchuk and his wife, Jennifer, obtained from court documents, paint a picture of chaos, violence, and paranoia. Many of them were sent while Andruchuck was actively buying up scores of firearms in late 2021.

“You tried to kill me and said you were going to kill me the whole time. The kids listened and watching as you started attacking me... just whipping objects at my head and body whipping bullets at me spitting in my face and bruising my neck shoulders arms legs stomach my head all the way around my skull,” his wife texted on Dec. 16, 2021. “You always bruise my temples and skull instead of face usually that’s smart that’s why i usually don’t huge marks or bruises on my face. You have me a concussion ... my body is brutally messed up you hit me with the gun and said you were going to shoot me in front of the kids over and over.” Read more.

PROVIDENCE — A federal judge ordered a Burrillville man accused of illegally stockpiling more than 200 firearms to remain in federal custody, saying it would be impossible to keep anyone safe from him.

US Magistrate Justice Patricia A. Sullivan decided Friday to detain Ronald Armand Andruchuk after reading two sealed documents from federal prosecutors that she said revealed “incredibly troubling” problems with drugs and mental health, explosive rage, and an obsession with firearms.

“Given the evidence of manipulation, manipulation of family and manipulation of others, I don’t see how our pretrial services officers can supervise this situation and how mental health treatment and substance abuse treatment is going to be effective in the way that it has to be in order for the community and specific individuals to be safe,” Sullivan said. PROVIDENCE — A Burrillville man who had stockpiled more than 200 firearms remains in custody after a US magistrate judge decided to continue a bail hearing until Friday after learning “extensive” new information about the case.

Magistrate Judge Patricia A. Sullivan was poised to set the conditions of bail for Ronald Armand Andruchuk on Tuesday morning. Then, on Monday night, and again about an hour and a half before the hearing, prosecutors submitted more information about Andruchuk’s case that could potentially show there are no possible conditions to ensure his safe release home.

Sullivan said the information, which is under seal, is “extensive” and that Andruchuk’s lawyer, public defender Kevin Fitzgerald, hadn’t had the opportunity to review the latest filing. Read more.

PROVIDENCE — US District Court Chief Justice John J. McConnell Jr. decided Monday that a Burrillville man accused of illegally buying more than 200 firearms and shooting into neighbor’s yards can be released before his trial, with certain conditions.

PROVIDENCE — A federal prosecutor is arguing that a Burrillville man who had stockpiled more than 200 guns would find a way to acquire more firearms if he’s released — because he was also making ghost guns.

Ronald Armand Andruchuk, 37, was arrested on Feb. 24 after firing shots into his neighbors’ yard and over the heads of Burrillville police officers. He’d been under investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for buying up masses of guns since July, despite a history of drug use.
